▶Top loader
- Wash with the pressure of water (30℃) while the wings rotate inside of the machine.
- Has disadvantage of clothes tangling together.
- Often used in Asia.
▶Front loader
- Washes with the gravity of water and clothes when the tumbler rotates like a wheel.
- No tangle between clothes
- Long time wash
- Needs approx. 60℃ of warm/ hot water to wash- heater system included -> more energy & expensive than top loader
- Advantage of using less water
Comparison
▶ After wash, qulities are equal for both machines.
▶Front loader needs approx. 9 times more electric energy than top loader. However, it needs half amount of water than the top loader.
▶Front loader needs 23L of water for1kg of clothes while top loader needs 43L.
▶ Noise of washing mode- Front loader had 49dB of noise which was 2dB higher than the top loader. And noise of drying mode, front loader had 58dB(55∼61dB), 2hB higher than the top loader.
